I live in China. In Xi'an to be exact. In my first months here, I came across many things that didn't really work as I expected them from my experience. Not because they were broken (this also happens to many things "Made in China" after a while, but the advantage of China is that you probably know someone who knows someone who can fix it). No, these things are just designed in a way they could not work. Like the house from the jokes, for which the bricklayers didn't leave a space for the door. Or a car with square wheels.
At first, I became angry at those things. Later a little amused. Sometimes it's hard even to think about the features they forget or the small things they come up with in order to make the user's life hard. I started telling others, but they couldn't believe - or they were also amused. Therefore, I decided to start this blog. Whenever I come across something which has a China-Feature (aka "Ceature"), I will describe it here. And I will also include some recollections of the past.
Last but not least: I really enjoy living here, and I do not want to offend China or the Chinese. It's not that in other countries they wouldn't come up with things to make life difficult (CAPS LOCK ISN'T A CHINESE INVENTION; IS IT?). It's just that I have the impression that here there's more of this...
